Eva Howlings spent 20 years helping Expats.cz become the most-loved online resource for English speakers in the Czech Republic. Soon she started teaching English privately and for ČVUT. She struggled to find engaging teaching materials, so she started making her own. She helped the team who built leading ESL platform Off 2 Class. During the COVID lockdown, she explored possibilities of using AI for language learning, and developed a program which uses prompt engineering as a way to help students get better at describing. The philosophy is: Language is an act of creation, driven by necessity. Eva says “As long as you can describe something well, you won't need to memorize so much vocabulary. Practice speaking instead! But first, you need to have something to say.”
