František Šulc presently serves as the First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic. Prior to this government service, he worked as a consultant in defense, security and marketing. Between 2010 and 2014, he was the Chief Advisor to Minister of Defence and Director of the Defence Minister’s Cabinet. Mr. Šulc has a wide media background, having worked in his professional career as a reporter covering defence and foreign affairs in several news outlets, such as Lidové noviny daily, Prima TV and Týden magazine. František Šulc holds a Bachelor degree in International Relations from University of West Bohemia and a Master’s degree in Security Studies from the Charles University in Prague.
